Childhood memories of mum's cooking.

I come from a family who like eating and cooking delicious food. Grandpa cooked the best oseng sandung lamur lombok ijo, Grandma baked the most delicious kaastengels, katetong and roasted the best ayam kodok :-p

Mum's cooking is the best of all... my childhood memories of mum's cooking are of oxtail soup, beefsteak complete with fried potatoes, salad and home made mayonnaise, tuna pizza, cheese bread, bread pudding, swiss rolls, chocolate cake, etc.

The kids were not allowed to buy food from street vendors, so mum made sure that every time we arrived from school, there would be meals on the table and snacks to bring to school the next day...

I liked to lick the cake mix from the spoon although mum forbade us to do so as it had raw eggs in it, but of course we did not care...we did not help so much in the kitchen... my sisters and I were too busy tasting and eating...

When I got married and moved in with my new hubby... I was shocked and lost weight... because I had to eat my own cooking and it was nothing like my mum's delicious cooking...

I had no other choice... I learned to cook and asked for my mum's secret recipes and now I can cook :-)

Homemade Egg Noodles


HOMEMADE EGG NOODLES
Ingredients:
300 gr high protein wheat flour
3 eggs
1 tsp salt
Corn flour as needed for keeping the dough from sticking to the pasta maker.

How to:
Mix together using food processor or for a bit of exercise do it the old fashioned way - use elbow grease (I kneaded manually).

Next get pasta maker, and let the instrument work on the dough. I started with no. 7 and moved on until I got the thin layer of dough at no. 2. Cut to rectangular approximately 10 x 20cm.

Then pass each piece through the thin spaghetti cutter.
Keep each string of noodle from sticking and clump to each other by sprinkling corn flour.
